Mandy Moore Makes Her Own Music

Singer/actress Mandy Moore is back in the recording studio and using her own money to make her next album. The singer was dumped by her record label, Sony, last year and has decided to take control of her own sound.

She says, "I could've made a record a year ago with the same people that do everybody's records. But I'm super-proud that I stuck to my guns. You don't have to follow the mainstream. I love pop music, but it's not right for me. I have no label, no A&R guy telling me something doesn't sound right. I've had complete control and freedom to do what I want."
