Apparently some people are trying to prevent David Beckham from being made a knight.

They figured, why should he be knighted when he won't be paying taxes to the UK for the next five years and he has paid any taxes for the last five years considering he's with the Real Madrid club.

But for people who wants him to be a knight, here's what they have to say:

He is seen by Downing Street as an iconic player and is highly regarded for the key part he played in bringing the 2012 Olympics to London. Deeply patriotic, he was delighted to be awarded the OBE in 2003.

In addition to his record as England captain, he and Victoria score highly as givers to charity.
