Stallone Admits He's A Druggie
Okay not really but he did admits the charge of 'importing' banned hormone drugs.
Australian custom officials said the 48 vials of the illegal hormone were found in his luggage at Sydney airport.
His lawyers also admitted the actor threw four vials of the male hormone testosterone out of his Sydney hotel window as customs officials arrived to search it.
The human growth hormone, Jintropin, occurs naturally but can be artificially replicated.
It is considered a performance enhancing drug in Australia and cannot be imported without a permit from the national drug regulator.
Lawyer Phillip Boulten said: "His apology to the court is an apology in broad terms, meant to convey both to the general public, the community, and to the justice system itself, his regret.
"This is not some back alley body builder dealing covertly with some banned substance in some sort of secret way," he said, adding the incident had caused the actor "a great deal of discomfort".
In a letter to the court Stallone said it was a "terrible mistake" caused by ignorance of the rules.
Stallone is expected to be sentenced today and faces a fine of up to $18,000.
