Zac Efron Gets A Ball
Teenage actor ZAC EFRON was left shocked during a U.S. TV interview on Tuesday (07Aug07) night, when host JAY LENO presented the baseball fanatic with a ball signed by record-breaking player BARRY BONDS.
Efron was telling Leno about how Bonds was the only San Francisco Giants player whose autograph he didn’t have, when the chat show host pulled out his surprise - on the same day Bonds’ 756th career home run set a new Major League Baseball record.
Efron was telling Leno, "I have a baseball collection. Me and my pops and my little brother, we’d all drive up to San Francisco Giants games. Every day we’d show up two hours before the park opened and we’d wait and catch foul balls.
"Afterwards, we’d go and have the players sign the balls. We’d wait in the parking lot and they’d all drive by in their nice cars, they’d roll down the windows and sign them for us.
"Unfortunately, the one that I don’t have is Barry Bonds. He pulled up to us, he rolled down his window, and me and my brothers were the only kids in the whole parking lot (not to get an autograph)." Leno then said he knew Bonds and had told him Efron was a fan, before presenting the stunned actor with his signed baseball.
