Matthew McConaughey Welcomes A Bastard

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves welcomed their first child into the world Monday afternoon in Los Angeles, his rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com.

Alves, 24, gave birth to the as-yet-unnamed baby at 6.22 p.m. local time weighing 7 lb., 4 oz.

"We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being a mother and a father, and sheparding him or her through this life," McConaughey blogged when announcing the pregnancy in January.

The actor, 38, told Entertainment Tonight he's been receiving parenting advice: "One thing I've heard that's consistent is, 'whatever plans you make, throw them out the window!'"
