Jude Law is facing an expensive paternity payout after it was revealed he is having a baby with an American model.
The 36-year-old actor, currently starring in Hamlet in the West End, is to become a father for the fourth time after a fling with Samantha Burke, it was confirmed last night.
Ms Burke, 24, from Pensacola, Florida, told the star that she is expecting his daughter on 6 October. He is said to have requested a DNA test to confirm the paternity bombshell.
Today her lawyers issued a statement confirming the reports.
It stated: “Ms Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr Law and that she has informed Mr Law that she is expecting his child.
“Since informing Mr Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms Burke and the pregnancy.”
According to the model's online registry entry at the store Babies R Us, she plans to call the child Sophia.
Her family is allegedly seeking a “substantial” sum to help raise the girl.
One leading US family lawyer warned the actor could face an enormous pay-out in child support unless he moves to Florida.
