Debbie Rowe Sells Her Kids Again

DEBBIE ROWE has reportedly agreed to drop her bid for custody of her children with MICHAEL JACKSON - in exchange for a $4 million (£2.6 million) payoff.

Rowe relinquished her rights to Prince Michael, 12, and daughter Paris, 11, in 2001 after receiving an $8 million (£5.3 million) lump sum and an annual cash payment of $900,000 (£600,000) from the King of Pop.

Last week (10Jul09), a custody hearing was postponed until 20 July (09) to give the singer’s mother Katherine - who has temporary conservatorship - and Rowe time to try to reach an agreement over the kids’ future.

And now the New York Post alleges Rowe has accepted a $4 million payment to back out of the custody battle.

A family source tells the newspaper, "It’s one final payday. (The family) felt it was like a ransom-type thing. (Rowe) jumped back into the picture because she wanted money… This would be it. This takes away any rights she has to challenge custody at any given time.

"If something happens to Katherine, (Rowe) can’t challenge the next (custody), whether that be Diana Ross or someone in the family."

Money Makes The World Go Round

A lawyer for Debbie Rowe is denying reports that she is not the biological mother of two of Michael Jackson's children, Prince, 12 and Paris, 11. (Jackson's youngest son, Prince Michael II, 7, was born to an unnamed surrogate.)

"We refuse to be drawn into addressing the various rumors and speculation swirling in the media," said Rowe's attorney Marta Almli. "The vast majority of what is out there is untrue. Particular hurtful and insidious is the most recent rumor — which is entirely false — concerning the maternity of the children. Ms. Rowe is the biological mother of the two oldest children."

Debbie Rowe Try To Contact MJ's Family

Debbie Rowe has tried in vain to contact the family of her late husband, and father to her children, Michael Jackson.

"We've been trying to reach them at different numbers," Marc Schaffel, an ex-Jackson confidante speaking on behalf of Rowe, told People.

"But we don't know if who we've been leaving messages with have gotten the messages. In all fairness, I wouldn't say they are avoiding her -- our understanding, though, is that the Jackson family does want to have contact with Debbie."

In court papers filed Monday, the late singer's mother Katherine said the kids "have no relationship with their biological mother."

Rowe is the legal parent of the late singer's eldest children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11; she has the right to retain custody of the children if she chooses, according to reports.

"Debbie was absolutely devastated by Michael's death," Schaffel said.

"They had an incredible bond and friendship even prior to the marriage -- Debbie was a very good friend to Michael during all those years."
