U.K's Channel 4 Is Guilty Of Cover Up

Remember the Big Brother drama regarding Shilpa Shetty being bullied by bigots? Well, Channel 4 was found guilty of "serious breaches" of the broadcasting code over the Big Brother race row.

It will now be forced to make a series of on-air apologies for its failure to act.

Following a lengthy inquiry, media watchdog Ofcom said Channel 4 "failed to appropriately handle" racist material broadcast during this year's version of the reality show in which housemates were accused of bullying Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

The regulator found three separate incidents had caused "widespread offenceî to the public - when former S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara and glamour model Danielle Lloyd made disparaging remarks about Indian cooking, when Lloyd said Shetty should "f**k off home" and Jade Goody's reference to the actress as "Shilpa Poppadom".

Meanwhile, an internal inquiry concluded the broadcaster "appeared to condone" racist incidents by failing to "intervene forcefully".

India Wants Gere Arrested

Hmmmm...... An Indian court has ordered Richard Gere arrest for kissing Shilpa Shetty in public during an AIDS campaign event this month.

Apparently a judge watched the kissing video and got a boner.... kiddding!!!!!

The court has also summoned Shilpa Shetty to appear on May 5.

The great news is that Richard Gere is not in India. Bad news is that if he returns to India which he often does to visit the Dalai Lama who lives in exile in Northern India then he is going to be arrested.

It seems that Gere a devout Buddhist visits the Dalai Lama frequently......

India Should Really Learn To Chill !!!!

Richard Gere is now public enemy number one in India.

Effigies of the Hollywod actor have been burned after he repeatedly kissed Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness event.

He had joined Shetty, the winner of the "Celebrity Big Brother" in a safe sex campaign for lorry drivers.

The 58-year-old shouted in Hindi to thousands of truck drivers who roared with delight and whistled loudly as Gere swooped down to kiss Shetty to kiss her on her hand and a number of times on one side of her face.

But it started to go wrong when groups of men turned on him and started shouting "Down with Richard Gere".

They burnt the Hollywood star's effigies and kicked the smoking remains in the northern Indian cities of Kanpur, Meerut and Varanasi as well as in the central city of Indore.

The protesters said Gere's kissing of Shilpa was against Indian culture.

Some burnt Shetty's posters, shouting "Death to Shilpa Shetty", and danced around the smouldering ashes, TV footage showed.

Again, some people in India should really learn how to chill! It wasn't that bad...... I want to say more but I better not.

Shilpa to Launch Her Own Perfume

Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty is in talks to launch her own perfume.

The Bollywood star will fly out to France in April and chat to executives about the type of fragrance she wants to use for her first UK product.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: "Shilpa's been approached by a number of companies interested in branding her name. But the perfume option is what appealed to her the most.

"There's a niche in the market for a perfume by an Indian actress. And she's hot property at the moment, so now's the time to cash in on it."

Shilpa Shetty Milks Guilty England

LONDON (Reuters) - Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, revelling in her newfound fame after winning a British reality television show, personally thanked Prime Minister Tony Blair on Wednesday for his support following a racist bullying row.

The "Celebrity Big Brother" winner, who was tormented by some fellow contestants on the live programme, said Blair had been "very, very sweet" during a six-minute meeting and had given her a portrait of parliament signed by himself and his wife, Cherie.

The glamorous actress, wearing a white sari, caused a media storm at parliament as scores of Indian and British journalists pursued her -- to the distress of parliamentary officials who enforce strict rules on visitors.

"He said I carried myself with utmost dignity and that he was very sad to see what I had to go through in the (Big Brother) house," Shetty told some 80 reporters outside parliament.

Jade Goody is so fearful for her children's safety she is considering letting their dad have sole custody.

The mother-of-two has received death threats and had her home attacked since becoming embroiled in an international race row over her treatment of 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemate Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

Jade is now considering the possibility of her children, three-year-old Bobby and two-year-old Freddie, living permanently with their TV presenter dad Jeff Brazier.

Speaking about her lowest point since leaving the Big Brother house, she told Britain's Heat magazine: "Last Monday after my interview on 'This Morning'. It killed me because Fern and Phillip were questioning my mothering skills and I know I was a nasty person, but I'm a good mum. Afterwards, in the dressing room, I kept thinking, 'I'm to blame. I put my family at risk.'

"I thought, 'I don't want to be here. Maybe the best thing for my kids would be to stay with their dad.' "

Jade - who has been staying in hotels - also confessed she was advised not to see her children because she was deemed too unstable.

Shilpa Shetty Wins BB

LONDON (AFP) - Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty was named the winner of British reality television show "Celebrity Big Brother", following a diplomatic storm over the racist bullying to which she was allegedly subjected.

Shetty was the favourite to win the programme, in which the activities of a group of celebrities living in a specially constructed house are televised round the clock by British broadcaster Channel Four.

Housemates were periodically evicted by viewers, who voted by telephone or text message. Shetty beat out five other finalists.

Among the comments made in last week's storm, Shetty was called a "dog" and asked whether she lives in a shack, prompting protestors in India to burn effigies of the show's producers.

British lawmakers lined up to condemn the programme when the row was at its height, while Indian officials urged their British counterparts to intervene.

The incident overshadowed a visit to India by Britain's finance minister and likely future prime minister, Gordon Brown.

Jade Goode Knows She's Nasty And Very Ugly

Celebrity Big Brother star Jade Goody has said that she did not realise how "nasty and ugly" her behaviour was until she watched footage of herself shouting and screaming at Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

She insisted she would have argued with everyone in the house in the same aggressive manner, no matter what the colour of their skin.

A contrite Jade said: "My actions and my words were wrong. They are not justified, I won't justify them.

"I didn't realise how nasty and ugly that was until I watched it.

"I am upset that I let myself get like that. I never knew I argued like that, I didn't know I looked as ugly and aggressive as that.

"I argue like that with everybody. It wasn't just because of the colour of her skin that I was that aggressive," she said.

"I do not know any other way of arguing. I do not want that passed on to my kids."

Jade said that when tensions between the pair reached boiling point, the worst Shilpa had said to her was "shut up".

She continued: "I do not want my children to go through school getting rejected.

"If I was Shilpa's parents I would be feeling rage. My sorryness goes out to them for putting their child through what I put her through."

Crowds banned from Big Brother eviction

Crowds will be banned from tonight's Big Brother eviction amid police fears over the safety of Jade Goody.

The race row that has engulfed the show means she is favourite to be voted out of the Big Brother house in Elstree.

An eviction is normally filmed with a backdrop of wildly cheering fans but Hertfordshire police warned producers to keep the set closed in case of a backlash against Goody.

It follows accusations that she has led allegedly racist bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother.

One of the two will be voted off in a phone poll this evening.

Gordon Brown waded into the row by urging viewers to throw Goody offthe show.

The Chancellor, on an official visit to India, said: "I hope people vote for tolerance."

Goody is expected to be met by police for protection and could also be questioned by officers who have launched a formal investigation.

A police spokesman said: "It would be irresponsible if we didn't consider crowd control tonight."

In the Celebrity Big Brother house Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty seems to have very few friends.

But outside the confines of Channel 4's reality TV show, she has almost 25,000.

That's the number of angry viewers who have complained on her behalf, accusing her housemates of racism and bullying.

A member of the public has also complained to the police.

Contestants Jade Goody, former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd and former popstar Jo O'Meara have been accused of repeatedly mocking Miss Shetty's accent and background.

As Miss Shetty bleached her facial hair, Miss Lloyd asked: 'Do you get stubble?' Miss O'Meara laughed and added: 'Like a man!'

Miss Lloyd then told Miss Goody, who is of mixed race herself: 'She wants to be white' and later declared: 'She's a dog'.

'They eat with their hands in India, don't they - or is that China?' asked Miss Lloyd, adding with a sneer: 'You don't know where her hands have been.'

Miss Goody's boyfriend Jack Tweedy, who is also on the show, referred to Miss Shetty with a four-letter word which was censored out during a late-night conversation, prompting rumours he had called her a 'Paki'. Channel 4 strenuously denies this.
