Wham Reunion Ruined

A reunion of Eighties pop legends Wham! at George Michael's Wembley concert on Sunday was reportedly scuppered by Andrew Ridgeley's nerves.

"George had pleaded with Andrew to join him on stage to play a couple of Wham! songs," a source told The Sun, "but Andrew was so sick with nerves at the thought of appearing on stage after all these years that he backed out."

The duo amassed many hits such as 'Club Tropicana' and 'I'm Your Man' before deciding to split up whilst still topping charts worldwide. On June 28, 1986 they played a farewell concert at Wembley Stadium entitled 'The Final'.

Ridgeley attempted to launch a solo career in 1990, but his material was largely ignored unlike that of his former Wham! partner. He then drifted away from the limelight and became an environmental activist along with working on a line of surfing goods. He is currently married to Bananarama singer Keren Woodward.
