Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford has moved out of the NYC apartment he shares with costar Ed Westwick, a source tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

The two have shared the apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood since they both first moved to the city after being cast in the hit CW series.

The source says Crawford -- who will star in the upcoming reboot of Footloose -- moved out on Monday and into a rented penthouse apartment in the luxe Dwell 95 building in NYC's Financial District.

The reason for Crawford's change of scenery?

Apparently, Westwick is a slob, and Crawford couldn't take the mess any longer, a source tells Us.

Looking prettier than an early morning sunrise, Chace Crawford was seen strolling into Ill Sole Restaurant late last night (June 1) in Los Angeles.

The Gossip Girl hunk will be the lead in the new Footloose remake since Zac Efron turned the part down after deciding he no longer wanted to be a musical one-trick pony.

“I know Zac, and we’re actually friends,” Chace tells Entertainment Weekly. “He’s gotta make the best choice for his career at this point, and I have to make the best for mine, and luckily, it worked out for both of us.”

Chace Crawford to Star in Footloose

It's official! Chace Crawford will star in the Footloose remake, Paramount Pictures confirms to Usmagazine.com exclusively.

"Chace Crawford will play the lead role of Ren McCormack in the film Footloose," Paramount told Us Tuesday.

The news is expected to be officially announced to trade publications Wednesday morning.

The actor has been considering the part for some time but had yet to officially sign until this week. He had been in contract negotiations and was struggling to make filming work around his Gossip Girl schedule, which is also due to start shooting its third season, a source told Us.

Crawford was offered the lead role of Ren -- portrayed in the 1984 original by Kevin Bacon -- after Zac Efron dropped out of the project in March.

The High School Musical star said the film "sort of" wasn't a good fit.

"I want to grow a bit with the types of movies I want to make," he said in April. "It was more along the lines that I was looking for a new challenge, and this was another musical."

Footloose will be produced and directed by High School Musical alum Kenny Ortega.

Other stars who have auditioned recently for the movie, which is set to begin shooting in March 2010, include Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Julianne Hough.

'Heroes' star Hayden Panettiere pleasantly surprised producers for the upcoming remake of Footloose with her musical talents. The petite actress auditioned for the role of Chace Crawford's on-screen love interest and her vocal stylings did not disappoint.

A source told E!, "They were really impressed. No one realized what a good singer she is." It seems her foray into popular music with the single "Wake Up Call" was no fluke. The next step in the process would be to have Panettiere perform a dance audition.

Lindsay Is Not Dating A Closeted Star

Don't believe the hype -- Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are still on. Phew!

Rumors swirled about a late-night booty call with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford (Linds was spotted going over to Chace's apartment at 6 a.m. on Feb. 16), but Lindsay tells Life & Style there was nothing romantic about her visit.

An inside source revealed to us that this past weekend Lindsay Lohan was in town in our beloved NYC and by the looks of the details we heard it sounds like she was using this weekend retreat to escape her lover (or soon to be ex) Sam Ronson. When I first saw these pictures of Covergirl Zac Efron and Gossip Girl Chace Crawford, I immediately asked, "Who's the top and who's the bottom?"
