Naomi Watts Gives Birth

Actors LIEV SCHREIBER and NAOMI WATTS welcomed baby boy ALEXANDER PETE SCHREIBER on Thursday afternoon (26Jul07), it has been confirmed.

The Hollywood couple’s first child weighed in at eight pounds and four ounces (3.74 kilogrammes) when he was born at 3.59pm local time in a Los Angeles hospital.

Reports claiming Watts had given birth surfaced early on Friday (27Jul07) with the news now been confirmed by the couple’s spokesman.

Mother and baby are resting comfortably in the hospital, close to the couple’s Brentwood, California mansion.

Naomi And Liev Does Not Want To Have A Bastard

Naomi is currently pregnant with their first child, and although they originally planned to get married after the baby is born, friends of the couple claimed they’re now considering a small wedding before her due date in late summer.

“There’s not enough time to plan a big wedding,” an insider told In Touch. “They’ll have just 25 guests for the nuptials in her hometown of Sydney, Australia, with a lavish wedding reception for all their stateside friends after the baby is born.”

Thanks to a rep for Escada, which designed Watts' Oscar gown has sent out a press release reading in part:

"The Escada gown set off her most precious new asset - the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber."

My guess is that rep is no longer working for Escada.
