The 'Queen' To Adopt????

There are reports that Queen Latifah (real name Dana Elaine Owens) and her long time partner Jeanette Jenkins are planning on adopting a baby at the end of the year.

A source told the National Enquirer that they “are hoping to have a little one by Christmas, they’re trying to keep it quiet because they don’t want to jinx the whole thing.”

But unlike other stars, 38-year-old Latifah has said numerous times she would adopt a baby in the U.S.

Earlier this year she said, “I can understand why people go outside the U.S. You can adopt someone here, and the birth parents have three years to come back and get that child. That’s terrifying, [American children] can use just as much assistance as someone from around the world. I want to do something here.”

She added, “I’ve always wanted to have [children] and adopt. When I was little, I remember seeing TV shows and a child would be adopted and be happy. I just always felt like there are so many kids out there who need a parent.”

There is also reports the couple want to get married now it is legal in California, although they never officially announced they are a couple.

Queen Latifah To Get Married????

After the state of California overturned a ban on gay marriages, many expected a rash of same-sex marriages to be scheduled in the state. On the celeb side of things, it seems that Queen Latifah will be amongst the first big stars to marry her longterm partner.

According to this week's edition of the National Enquirer, Queen Latifah plans to marry her partner of five years, personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins.

Queen Latifah has been very tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, and told Ebony magazine in 2007 that she would not comment on the rumor that Jenkins was her girlfriend. She didn't deny it, she was just annoyed that she was asked.

“No comment on that at all. I’m done commenting on all that … It’s ridiculous, I know me and that’s all I need to know.

“And if the readers don’t know me, then that’s one part they aren’t going to get to know. Those are my people but they don’t sleep with me,” she says in a very even tone that is very consistent with her relaxed mood. “It feels so invasive. It’s the one thing I don’t think people need to know about.”

The Queen For Jenny Craig

Queen Latifah officially announced Thursday that she's joining the ranks of Kirstie Allie and Valerie Bertinelli as the new spokeswoman for the Jenny Craig weight-loss program.

"I feel like I've set the example for loving your body no matter what size it is, but I also can set the example for being healthy as well," says the singer and actress whose grandmother suffered from diabetes.

Talking about the health benefits of shedding a few pounds she says, "If you lose 5 – 7 percent of your bodyweight, you cut the chances of diabetes in half."

Asked to name her usual dieting downfall, she says she doesn't have a sweet-tooth, but "portions and sizes" is what gets her in trouble.

"I don't eat bad food. I probably just eat too much food, and I think a lot of people do," the Mad Money star admits.

By following the Jenny Craig program, which consists of a diet of prepackaged food and weekly weigh-ins and meeting, Latifah says her main goal is to be a healthy role model.

"I'm trying to just be an inspiration to people who just want to get healthy," she says. "It's not about losing 100 lbs., because that's not who I want to be. But, it is about being really healthy."

All Hail Queen Latifah And Her Clothing Line

People reports:

In a time when designer samples range in size from 0-2, Queen Latifah still manages to look fantastic on the red carpet. Sure, she has designers like Carmen Marc Valvo and Bradley Bayou whipping up custom creatins for her at the drop of the hat, but when it comes to day-wear, the actress is all about Curvation. After starting as a lingerie company for full-figured women, Curvation has branched out with a full line of ready to wear inspired by the Chicago star. "The line is all kinds of things to make a woman feel sexy," says Latifah, whose stylist Susan Moses is also the creative director for the line. "We wanted to do what was trendy and on the edge." And though she says she "was never a size six—not since I was 12," Latifah knows the key to looking good is feeling good. "She has to be sexy and comfortable," says Moses of Latifah's "approachable glam" style. Look for that in Curvation's spring line, which features lots of silks and jerseys that "silhouette the body instead of trying to hide women's' curves," explains Moses. Latifah's take? "I'd walk down the red carpet in that." (And she has, while rolling out the red carpet itself for the People's Choice Awards.) Get your own at shopcurvation.com.

Katie Holmes Is A Working Alien Mom

Variety reports that Katie Holmes has joined Queen Latifah in Mad Money, to be directed by Thelma & Louise screenwriter Callie Khouri.

The Glenn Gers script, based on British film Hot Money, concerns three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. Khouri did a rewrite on the script.

The third actress is not yet cast. The film will shoot in Shreveport, La.

Holmes, who is making her return to acting after maternity leave, has dropped out of The Dark Knight, Warner Bros.' Christopher Nolan-directed sequel to Batman Begins.

The Queen Is Gay?

Speculation about Queen Latifah’s sexual orientation has been running in and out of Black Hollywood for years. Mostly because of her convincing portrayal of a lesbian in the 1996 movie “Set It Off.” Plus, she has never spoke out publicly about any of her past relationships..

Latifah responded to gay rumors in her 1999 autobiography by saying:

“It’s insulting when someone asks, ‘Are you gay?’ A woman cannot be strong, outspoken, competent at running her own business, handle herself physically, play a very convincing role in a movie, know what she wants—and go for it—without being gay? Come on.”

Word has it that Queen Latifah and her rumored girlfriend, Jeanette Jenkins, broke it off after three years of dating. Jenkins is a trainer who has worked with numerous stars, and some of you may have seen her in those heath commercials that air on BET.

Many sources are also saying that Jeanette plans on talking to media about her relationship with the popular star.
