More On The Lindsay-Riley Break-Up... If You Still Care

You read it here first -- and now it's happened. Lindsay Lohan and boyfriend Riley Giles are indeed kaput. While there had been rumblings (before Thanksgiving) that LiLo's introduction of the snowboarder to her New York-based family and friends over the Turkey Day holiday might be tied to an engagement announcement, the opposite was true.

As tipped here before Thanksgiving, Lohan had begun questioning her once-hot romance -- launched when the two met in rehab at the Cirque Lodge clinic in Utah in September.

Thanksgiving turned out to be ''the tipping point,'' a close pal of the actress told me Saturday. ''The whole weekend was pretty much of a disaster -- at least regarding Riley,'' the source added. Though much has been made of Giles heading out to Big Apple nightspots -- to party without Lohan -- there's actually more to that story.

A lifelong friend of Giles and his family from California tells me, ''Riley was also having second thoughts about the whole thing. He knows that people in the early stages of recovery should avoid romantic entanglements -- with both recovering addicts and with other people as well. On top of all that, Riley realized Lindsay isn't the girl for him in the long term -- plus he found her family and friends in New York a real turn-off.''

My Lohan source also adds that ''Lindsay historically hasn't been interested in any one person or thing or even acting project for very long. She gets bored way too easily.''

Lindsay Lohan and Riley Giles, the 25-year-old snowboarder she met while seeking treatment at Utah's Cirque Lodge, have ended their relationship, sources confirm to PEOPLE.

"They're over – they've broken up," a source says. "They split after Thanksgiving weekend."

Adds another source: "She is concentrating on her life and her career."

Lohan, 21, checked out of the exclusive Cirque Lodge on Oct. 5. She had been there since August. (The breakup was first reported by E! News.)

A week after his daughter had left Cirque Lodge, Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, told PEOPLE about Giles: "He's a great, great kid. If you met him, you'd like him."

New Record Label
On the career front, Lindsay is gearing up to head back to the studio to record an album for Universal Music Group's Motown label, to be released next year. (She had previously recorded with the parent company's Casablanca label.)

A label source tells PEOPLE that Lohan "is expected to start recording within the next two weeks."

In addition, Lohan is gearing up for a scheduled cameo on ABC's Ugly Betty. Says her rep: "As we left it, she was in talks to do an arc on Ugly Betty, which she is a huge fan of. She's hoping that the [writers'] strike ends soon. She'd love to get back to work."

OK! magazine reports that Giles blasts Dina Lohan and her new reality show.

“ADVICE OF THE WEEK: if your a mom, with 4 kids, the best thing u can do for them right now is have a reality show. WE. DO. NOT. WANT. she had the nerve to ask us to be on. no thanks!”

Ouch. We’re no fans of Mama Lohan’s parenting skills (or lack thereof), but isn’t it a little disrespectful for one’s very new boyfriend to get in on the drama?

Update:

Riley Giles is denying reports that he blasted his girlfriend’s mom on the internet! Several websites claimed on Tuesday that Riley posted harsh words about Lindsay Lohan’s mom Dina on his MySpace page. The reports claimed that Dina asked Lindsay and Riley to be on her reality show, and that Riley posted an entry stating “WE. DO. NOT. WANT. she had the nerve to ask us to be on. no thanks!"

But there’s one problem — its not true!

Riley tells In Touch: "I don't even have MySpace. Someone is obviously pretending they are me. I definitely didn't say any of those things because I don't even have a MySpace account, what a joke!"

“Extra” spoke exclusively to Michael Lohan as he promoted the faith-based event “GodMen,” but the interview turned personal when talked turned to Lindsay.

As Lindsay shopped in L.A., as captured by celebtv.com, Michael told "Extra," “All I’ll say is that she’s in the right place in her heart and mind and soul,” Michael said. He and Lindsay rekindled their strained relationship once she entered rehab at the Cirque Lodge this summer.

Their new relationship has “been a blessing. I feel blessed by being back in her life. I feel blessed that she’s back on the right path, that she’s found the right place in her life. She’s a blessed kid.”

Michael is also giving his blessing to Lindsay’s new beau, skateboarder Riley Giles.

“Riley is a good kid,” he says. “He comes from a good family. It’s not about what we did in the past. It’s about righting those wrongs.”

He adds, “I don’t think anyone has the right to judge Riley. They [Lindsay & Riley] keep each other in line. They go to meetings with one another.”

In regard to his relationship with ex-wife Dina, he added, “I wish the best for Dina.”

In the meantime, National Enquirer interviewed the ex-fiancee and here's what she said:

She said, "She came into the meeting with Riley, and she comes over and sits next to me, being overly nice. She was complimenting me on my hair and trying to be my friend. It didn't seem sincere at all.

A few days later, I get a text message from Riley telling me he wanted to 'take a break.' I knew instantly it was because of Lindsay."
