Saint Hotness Is Upset With Paparazzi

Angelina Jolie hates the fact her fame and the attention she attracts prevents her from taking her children on trips to Disneyland. Instead, Jolie and her boyfriend Brad Pitt make an effort to plan in detail every family outing for the sake of their kids - Maddox, five; Zahara, 23 months; and Shiloh Nouvel, six months.

Jolie says, "I've made a point not to let it change the way that I live my life. I carefully plan my holidays to try to ensure some kind of quality of life that is private and nice for the kids. I think that the only time it is hard is when the kids want to go somewhere and want to see something.

"I've had so many people offer to take my children to Disneyland or dressing up for trick-or-treating - things they assume my kids can't do (with me and Brad) - and they don't understand how upsetting that is. So, we plan to find ways to do all of those things. There are worse problems and so we're OK."

The pic is from this Kate's Studio blog. Kate explains the painting which will be displayed at the Miami Beach Convention Center from January 5th to the 8th:

This painting addresses the celebrity worship cycle. The title, “Blessed Art Thou”, is taken from a line in the Catholic prayer “Hail Mary”: “…blessed art thou among women”. Our culture is deifying celebrities, but in the bible, it is the meek who are blessed, so the title presents a question for the viewer to ponder.

Angelina Jolie was chosen as the subject because of her unavoidable presence in the media, the world-wide anticipation of her child, her "unattainable" beauty and the good that she is doing in the world through her example, which adds another layer to the already complicated questions surrounding her status.

The "Virgin" and Zahara figures are loosely based on a Van Dyck Virgin painting, and the Maddox figure's pose is borrowed from a Raphael painting.
