Guess Who;s Going Back To E.R.

GEORGE CLOONEY has reportedly agreed to return to medical drama E.R. for the show’s final series.

The Oceans Eleven actor starred as Dr. Doug Ross from 1994 to 1999 in the long-running series before leaving to pursue his blossoming movie career.

But now the show is coming to an end after 15 seasons, Clooney has agreed to return for an unspecified number of episodes, according to People.com.

Clooney is reported to start filming his scenes on Thursday and Friday this week (22/23Jan09) on the Warner Bros. set in Los Angeles.

And he won’t be the only returning E.R. original - his former TV lover Julianna Margulies is also reportedly coming back for the final shows.

Insiders tell U.S. magazine Life & Style Margulies, who played Nurse Carol Hathaway during the show’s first six seasons, will be joining him on the set for one final episode.

The source says, "They are the last two of the original cast to make one last appearance. It’s part of an effort to wrap up all of the original characters’ storylines." George and Julianna’s episode is expected to air at the end of February (09).

The pair’s former castmates Eriq LaSalle, Noah Wyle and Anthony Edwards have already returned for episodes as the medical drama prepares for its final shows.

Show creator John Wells has revealed in this week’s TV Guide magazine he has had an offer to revive the show on America’s ABC network after the series ends on NBC. He admits the move is unlikely, but adds, "Never say never."
