L'Oreal Is Racist

The French company appeared in court last week accused of using only white women to promote its Garnier shampoos.

Now Winslet and fellow British actor Clive Owen are facing pressure to end their associations with L’Oreal and make their stance on racism clear.

A Commission for Racial Equality spokesperson said: ‘We would ask those high-profile ambassadors to think carefully about whether or not they want to be associated with this organisation.

‘What a wonderful opportunity this could be to stand up to racism, to show that it simply has no place in today’s society.’ Winslet replaced actress Isabella Rossellini as the spokesmodel for L’Oreal-owned company Lancome’s Tresor fragrance just last month.

‘Inside Man’ star Owen was unveiled as the new face of Lancome’s luxury male skin products in May 2006.

Simon Woolley of race campaign group The 1990 Trust fumed: ‘It is shameful that those on L’Oreal’s payroll keep conveniently quiet. The correct thing to do would be to at least speak out or resign.’

Damn!!!!! Now I have to throw away all my L'Oreal products.... I wonder if I can get a refund....

Winslet Proposes To Streep

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Kate Winslet once asked Meryl Streep if she could French-kiss her.

'The Holiday' actress was so exited to meet her idol at a recent awards ceremony she accidentally blurted out the embarrassing offer.

Winslet told In Style magazine: "I went up to her and said, 'Oh my God, I love you so much, I would happily tongue-kiss you right now!'"

The 31-year-old actress admits her hasty comments often annoy her husband, film director Sam Mendez.

She explained: "Doing things on a whim, taking risks - I definitely have that side. It drives Sam mad."

Winslet admits her brave nature also plays a big part when she is choosing film roles.

She said: "When I choose a role, it's to try something different. I look back over the past decade and think, 'God, I've had these wild opportunities to try so many outrageous things.'"

Winslet Says "Yes" To Fats

Kate Winslet has spoken out against the increase in the number of "size zero" actresses and models.

Speaking to the BBC, the star said that she thought the growing trend was "unbelievably disturbing".

She explained, "What I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner."

Winslet also revealed that she refused to have magazines in the house because of the damaging effect that it could have on her six-year-old daughter, Mia.

She commented: "It's only a matter of time before she becomes aware of it and it frightens the life out of me."

"I hope that in some small way I'm able to say, 'I'm a normal person, I'm doing all right, I've got a lovely husband and children, and I didn't lose weight to find those things, and those things are what should be important'".
