The curtain will go up Sept. 18 for previews of Katie Holmes‘ Broadway debut, but not before a little controversy.

Katie‘ show, All My Sons needed a bigger theater for their run, so Mario Lopez’s A Chorus Line is getting booted from the theater they are currently showing in.

“Katie wouldn’t sign a long-term agreement with her show, which is why it’s the limited run that it is. They had to figure out how to make more money with the time they had with her,” said a source told MSNBC.

The solution: Move to a musical theater. “Musical theaters have more seats than a traditional playhouse, so they can sell more tickets each week,” the source said. “That’s how the show ended up at the Schoenfeld Theater (where “Chorus Line” runs). Because of the All My Sons rehearsal schedule, they had to cut Mario Lopez’s run in A Chorus Line.

“[Mario] might be People’s hottest bachelor, but he’s pissed,” said the source. “Let’s face it, he doesn’t have much going on right now.”

The production, which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, officially opens Oct. 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for a limited run through Jan. 11.

Mario Lopez And Girlfriend Split Again

Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez have called it quits, Smirnoff’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“Karina has parted ways with her two year relationship with Mario Lopez,” says Smirnoff’s spokesperson. “The relationship wasn’t heading in the right direction.”

Lopez issued the following statement through his rep: “Karina and I have the utmost respect for each other. She is a phenomenal and talented woman. I support her always and feel blessed to have her in my life.”

The on-again, off-again couple–spotted frolicking in Miami last month– began dating in 2006 when they were partnered together on the third season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Though they remained mum about their relationship, they were spotted vacationing in Mexico together shortly after coming in second on the hit reality dance competition. The following May, Lopez, 34, and the Ukrainian-born Smirnoff moved in together.

In April, Smirnoff shot down reports of a breakup, telling PEOPLE, “We are going strong.”

Mario Lopez Could Not Help "The Chorus Line"

MARIO LOPEZ couldn’t rescue Broadway show A CHORUS LINE from the axe - it’s closing in New York five months after he first took to the stage.

Producers hired the former Dancing with the Stars star in April (08) to boost falling theatre attendances.

But he has just filled 60 per cent of New York’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre since starting his run - and bosses are pulling the plug on the 18-month-long revival of the dance spectacular.

The final performance will be 17 August (08).

John Breglio for Vienna Waits Productions announced today that "Extra TV' host and "Dancing with the Stars" finalist Mario Lopez will make his Broadway debut joining the cast of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical A Chorus Line beginning Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 W 45th St). Mr. Lopez will play Zach, the demanding director who is casting the chorus roles for a new Broadway musical, through Sunday, September 7, 2008.

"Mario is an enormously talented actor and dancer and we are thrilled to have him make his Broadway debut in A Chorus Line," said producer John Breglio. "His talents and charm will transfer beautifully to the Broadway stage."

A-List At Eva Longoria's Wedding

So okay, Eva Longoria got married over the weekend and before we hit up OK! Magazine's article, let go first with the wedding cost, supposedly.

Rumored was that the wedding cake cost $30,000. The reception held at Chateaude Vaux-le-Vicomte was around $50,000 for 5 hours only and can most more should and if the wedded couple decides to stay longer.... but, no worries, OK!Magazine is paying $2 million for exclusive wedding and honeymoon pics, excluding the sex video they will be making during their honeymoon hight..... KIDDING!!!!

So anyways, the OK!Magazine article about the wedding was typical like "ow wow, it was like a fairy tale...yada yada yada..." BUT, there were a couple of things I found really really hilarious:

"The wedding was very emotional," Ryan Seacrest tells OK! exclusively at the reception. "It makes you think... Right now I'm looking at this Chateau and thinking how small my house is by comparison!"

Oh Ryan.... you are such a size queen....

And the best part with the article is this:

Around an hour later, A-list guests like Mario Lopez and Ryan Seacrest rode off to the cathedral in dark red coaches while throngs of fans and well-wishers cheered. "It's like a royal wedding!" one wedding guest tells OK!.

Ryan Seacrest and Mario Lopez are A-LIST???????? Since when? What planet????? Oh dear!!!!!! LOL!!!!! Well, they have to sell magazine, right?

Mario Lopez To Host Miss America Pageant

Television star Mario Lopez has been tapped to host the 2007 Miss America Pageant, airing live from The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Monday, Jan. 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.

Sarah Brock, CMT executive producer and vice president, production, music and events, notes: "Mario Lopez is a fantastic choice to host the 2007 Miss America Pageant. With his soaring popularity, his former hosting experience and his undeniable charm, he will certainly excel as this year's host."

The Return Of Mario Lopez

It looks like Mario Lopez’s career (and love life) may have been saved by the ballroom. According to Variety, The Dancing with the Stars finalist just inked a talent holding deal with the CW in which the network plans to either develop a starring vehicle for him or cast him in a pilot for the 2007-08 season.

Mario was also spotted steaming it up with his Dancing with the Stars partner Karina Smirnoff on their five day vacation in Punta Mita. I think it’s pretty obvious that they’re way more than just friends.
