Katie Holmes will make one more movie before she has another child.

The Hollywood actress, who has a three-year-old daughter Suri with husband Tom Cruise, is desperate to star in a box office hit before she expands her family.

A source said: "Katie was resentful about having to put movies on hold after Suri. She wants another hit before she has a second baby."

Katie's last film 'Mad Money' failed to impress at the box office when it was released in 2008. The crime comedy, also starring Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton, only managed to match its estimated $22 million budget when its cinema run ended.

The 30-year-old star is currently on location in Australia filming horror movie 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' alongside Guy Pearce.

Katie recently insisted she believes it is possible to be a good mother and have a successful career.

She said: "I happen to be a woman who believes she can have it all. We women can do an awful lot if we put our minds to it. And not only that, we can have fun doing it! Even when it's crazy - which is pretty much most of the time - it's fun. At least, that's been my experience.

"It's a good combination for me and Tom - work and family, a healthy balance."

Katie Holmes narrowly avoided serious injury after a car caught fire on a movie set.

The actress, who is currently on location in Australia filming 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark', was reportedly shooting a scene in the vehicle when the battery exploded last weekend.

Katie was left shaken after dashing from the car just before it burst into flames.

A source said: "Katie was inside a car when the vehicle's battery exploded - it was sparking smoke and fumes before the car then caught fire.

"The exploding battery was not a part of the film."

In 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' - a remake of a 1973 TV movie - Katie plays a woman who is stalked by wicked gnomes.

Katie - who is married to Tom Cruise - has previously revealed she is excited about working on the new film.

She said: "I'm really enjoying it. The movie is really character-driven. It's really her journey becoming a mother. In the midst of that, there are unexpected scares."

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are to stay in a $27,500-a-night suite when they move to Australia.

The Hollywood couple - who are relocating to Melbourne next month while the actress films new movie 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' - will be the guests of fellow Scientologist James Packer at his hotel Crown Towers.

They are expected to take up the entire 39th floor of the five-star hotel.

As VIP guests Tom and Katie - along with three-year-old daughter Suri - will have panoramic views of the city, a butler and a nanny service on call 24 hours a day.

The suite - which features four huge bedrooms, a private lift, marble-lined bathrooms and state-of-the-art kitchens - is currently going through a refurbishment and is expected to be completed in time for the couple's arrival.

It is not known whether Tom and Katie will pay for the suite or if it is a gift from the casino owner, who is the son of media magnate Kerry Packer.

Katie recently revealed she can't wait to move to Australia and start working on the new movie.

She said: "I'm really looking forward to it.

Suri Cruise is not allowed to socialise with non-Scientologist children.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly reluctant to let their three-year-old daughter play with other kids, even those in her two dance classes.

A source told Britain's Star magazine: "She never hangs out with her dance friends before or after class. Her mom takes her and waits in the lobby during class. Then their entourage whisk her away again.

"They prefer Suri not to hang out with other kids unless they're Scientologists. And she doesn't have many play dates with children and is happy just spending time talking to her dolls as though she is their adult nanny."

Despite her isolated existence, Suri has lots going on in her life to keep her occupied. In addition to having tuition in Spanish and French, Tom and Katie have now signed her up for piano and violin lessons.

The source added: "They think she'll be very good at both and are fully convinced that she'll want to practise all the time."

The couple are said to refuse to treat Suri as a child and prefer to behave as if she is their equal.

The source explained: "They say that Suri is a little adult, and that she can hang out with them and their friends. They don't say no to her as they believe that she will understand better what she did wrong if they just explain it to her.

"They indulge all of her interests. She is taught to be perfectly clean - and they don't let her do any activities that make a mess. Their home has to be completely quiet at certain times and Suri is expected to comply."

Now can reveal that the pressure from husband Tom Cruise, 46, to conceive another child is so immense, friends say she’s close to cracking.

John Duignan, a member of the cult for 20 years who knows people in Tom’s entourage, explains: ‘If she’s under pressure to provide another child, they’ll use very powerful mind-control techniques to help Tom get what he wants. Katie had been in New York, talking to real people and then she was back in the world of Scientology.

‘She could crack up. There are lots of suicides among Scientologists – it’s psychologically very damaging. At least she’s been exposed to outside influences. But it’s difficult to escape, especially with a child.’

Apparently Tommy Boy wants to move to the UK. His official reason is that his contract wife, Katie Holmes, can futher pursue her theatre career.

Living in London is not a first for Tommy Boy since he did live there for two years when he was married to her ex-contract wife Nicole Kidman.

Apparently Contract Wife Is Not Spending A Lot

If Tommy Girl was your official woman, there's only two ways you would spend your days: crying and shopping. Katie must be doing a lot of the former while she's in NYC. That's what Page Six Magazine (via Telegraph) claims anyway. They say since Katie landed in New York last July, she's only taken around $14 million from Tommy's butt plug fund and has spent.

Apparently, most of the money was spent on real estate. They bought three extra apartments in the building they live in. Two are for Tommy's ego and the other is for Katie's tears.

Some source said Katie also spent $13,987 on Suri's slaves, $7,000 on gym crap, $7,315 on food and $17,000 on rags for her and Suri in six months.

All these numbers seem kind of low ball to me, but now that I think about it, it makes sense. 7 grand may not seem like much for food, but Katie only eats dried-up barley flakes and Tommy nibbles on her soul whenever he gets hungry. And $14k on child care for Suri also seems kind of low budget, but I don't think we can see most of Suri's slaves. Thetans can make themselves invisible-like. Besides, Suri doesn't need them around that often since she spends most of her time looking after Katie. The $7k they spent on gym crap was only for Tommy's vibrating dirt star slimmer.

It's the $17k that seems way off! There's no way any of Katie's shit rags come from anywhere but the "$1 for 1 pound" pile at the Salvation Army. That said, Katie needs to spend more! If she's going to terrorize NYC with her weepy zombie face, she better start dropping more alien dollars.

Katie Holmes knows how to draw a crowd — including anti-Scientology demonstrators.

Nearly 100 people lined up outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre Thursday night an hour before Holmes acted on Broadway for the first time in a preview performance for "All My Sons."

Not in the line: roughly 30 Scientology protesters who stood behind a barricade and loudly chanted "Scientology kills!" Some wore masks like in the movie "V for Vendetta," and one poster read: "FREE KATIE."

Moments before the curtain went up, Holmes' husband — and Hollywood's most famous Scientologist — Tom Cruise entered the theater, where he mingled and shook hands with some other theatergoers who took photos and clapped. He then hugged Dustin Hoffman, who was sitting a couple rows away, which drew another cheer inside the theater.

Amid the hubbub, it took awhile for people to take their seats.

Melissa Doyle tried to ignore the ruckus. She said she took her spot in line early, and saw Holmes rush into the theater wearing skinny jeans, a black blazer and oversized sunglasses.

"I love Katie Holmes," the 27-year-old New Yorker said. "I think she's a great actress and right now, I really love her for her fashion, her style! I think she really kind of differentiates herself among young Hollywood. Plus, she's a mom — and I just think she's a really good role model."

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Alistair Savides, visiting from St. Louis, said he wasn't there to see Holmes. He said he's a fan of Arthur Miller's drama, which first played on Broadway in 1947.

"I don't really care about who's performing as long as they're good at what they do and it's a good play," Savides said.

As protesters' chants grew louder, Savides called it "surreal to be right in the middle of this thing. But, you know, there's always two sides to every story and they just really strongly believe in one side of the story. ... If it adds to public debate, maybe that's a good thing."

Cruise's membership in the Church of Scientology has made him a controversial target of criticism. And last year, Jada Pinkett Smith felt compelled to deny her good friend Holmes is a prisoner in her marriage to Cruise, who's been depicted by the tabloids as a controlling husband.

"All My Sons" concerns businessman Joe Keller (John Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.

Dianne Wiest plays Keller's wife; Patrick Wilson his idealistic son; and Holmes the son's fiancee and daughter of Keller's disgraced partner.

The play officially opens Oct. 16.

Katie Holmes got a surprise visit from former boyfriend -- and Dawson's Creek co-star -- Joshua Jackson while she was rehearsing for her Broadway debut in New York earlier this month.

The pair dated for all the first season and part of the second season of the Creek, with the relationship ending peacefully in 1998.

The pair had lost touch, until Jackson popped in to see the actress with a big bunch of flowers.

Josh had become concerned after seeing recent photographs of Katie -- who is married to Tom Cruise -- looking gaunt and tired, with black circles under her eyes, reports Britain's Grazia magazine.

A source told the publication, "Katie has been looking skinny and depressed and, like any concerned friend, rather than do nothing Joshua wanted to check everything was OK.

"So he just decided to drop by. It was really sweet, he just turned up unexpectedly with a bunch of flowers and said: 'Hello stranger.' Katie was shocked, but so happy to see him. It was a wonderful surprise. She gave him such a big hug."

The source added that Jackson wanted to reassure the 29-year-old that she still had friends of her own age and outside of Scientology, the religion that she joined after falling in love with Cruise.

The source continued, "Joshua made it clear she wasn't alone. He's not out to cause trouble. Her life is truly bizarre now, but having some friends supporting her who have nothing to do with her LA set-up could make all the difference.

"Josh would love to see Katie as the carefree and relaxed woman he once knew."

Protest Set To Save Contract Wife

More trouble for Katie Holmes’ Broadway debut.

A protest is set to be staged by the anti-Scientology group Anonymous at the opening of All My Sons on October 16 to “save Katie” from Scientology.

An anonymous spokesperson for the organization says: “We aren’t looking to shut it (All My Sons) down, we don’t have the power to do that, we just want to prove a point. We want to draw attention to Scientology, and hopefully get Katie out of it before its too late.”

Members of the group reportedly wear masks when protesting to protect their identities and preclude social, political, and financial risks, because Scientology is a “dangerous cult” with “a well earned reputation for harassing critics and openly critical ex-scientologists at their homes and workplaces.”

The groups previous projects have resulted in the closing of the white-supremacist radio show produced by Hal Turner, and the criminal prosecution of Canadian pedophile Chris Forcand.

In today's Post Michael Riedel reports that her upcoming Broadway debut, in Arthur Miller's All My Sons, just isn't the draw that producers had hoped for. Despite brokers' expectations, the girl is no Julia Roberts, "who pretty much sold out Three Days of Rain in One Day of Rain." (To this we can only say: Duh. Who expected Joey Potter to bring in the fans of Shelby Eatenton Latcherie?) Riedel explains that Holmes, unlike the last Mrs. Tom Cruise (and unlike Daniel Radcliffe in Equus a few blocks away), doesn't get naked onstage. Also, the economy isn't great these days: "People aren't shelling out $110 for a play anymore," one broker says. "It doesn't matter who's in it." (This explanation we don't buy, mainly because of two words in last week's column: Taylor Hicks.)

But what Riedel fails to mention — an omission we think speaks volumes — is that Holmes is not putting on a one-woman show. And the producers' botching of this message suggests to us that the show might be selling more tickets if Katie Holmes weren't in it.

Oh, you didn't know that Tony winner John Lithgow, Tony nominee (and Little Children hottie) Patrick Wilson, and Oscar winner Dianne Wiest are in this play, too? Why would you? All anyone can talk about is Katie Holmes, Katie Holmes, Katie Holmes. "Backstage at All My Sons, the buzz is that the cast has been forced to sign confidentiality agreements," reports Riedel. "The Scientology minders in charge of Holmes apparently don't want any press they can't control." Hint, hint, producers: This may be the perfect excuse to shift the focus to everyone else. An All My Sons with Lithgow, Wilson, and Wiest would sell just fine, we expect; we think all Katie Homes is doing is overshadowing her talented (and stage-tested) co-stars.

Also, talk about burying the lede, Michael Riedel! "By the way, Cruise has been putting out feelers to theater producers about doing a play at some point. He's in career recovery, which usually means a visit to Broadway at some point." Interesting! But which show? We're going with The Producers.

Scientology's Contract Wife vs People's Hottest Bachelor

The curtain will go up Sept. 18 for previews of Katie Holmes‘ Broadway debut, but not before a little controversy.

Katie‘ show, All My Sons needed a bigger theater for their run, so Mario Lopez’s A Chorus Line is getting booted from the theater they are currently showing in.

“Katie wouldn’t sign a long-term agreement with her show, which is why it’s the limited run that it is. They had to figure out how to make more money with the time they had with her,” said a source told MSNBC.

The solution: Move to a musical theater. “Musical theaters have more seats than a traditional playhouse, so they can sell more tickets each week,” the source said. “That’s how the show ended up at the Schoenfeld Theater (where “Chorus Line” runs). Because of the All My Sons rehearsal schedule, they had to cut Mario Lopez’s run in A Chorus Line.

“[Mario] might be People’s hottest bachelor, but he’s pissed,” said the source. “Let’s face it, he doesn’t have much going on right now.”

The production, which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, officially opens Oct. 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for a limited run through Jan. 11.

While the ink isn't yet dry on the deal, it is all but certain that Katie Holmes will make her Broadway debut this Fall, playing Ann Deever in the revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

Discussions to bring the actress to Broadway were confirmed back in March, and now a deal seems inevitable. Producer Eric Falkenstein tells OK! he thinks Katie is perfect for the part.

"Katie is very well suited for the role of Ann," he says. "There is an additional layer of soul to Ann and from the work I've seen of Katie, she has always impressed with multi-faceted characters. She would nail it."

Falkenstein also feels that Mrs. Cruise's star-power won't overshadow her acting ability. "Despite being in the spotlight and her celebrity status, the fact remains that she has a tremendous record of performances," he says. "I think Katie is a tremendous actor. Whenever she decides to come to the stage she'll be terrific."

All My Sons will hit Broadway with a preview in September and open a month later in October. A formal announcement is expected to take place within the next 10 days.
