"Some friends are finding this hilarious," a Hilton insider tells the paper. "They are all making jokes about 'The Simple Life' and how Nicole [Richie, who was arrested for DUI in December after allegedly driving the wrong way down a freeway] should go along for the ride."

Meanwhile, a source close to Paris' frenemy Lindsay Lohan, who's currently embroiled in her own scandal courtesy of a British tabloid, snitches to the News that although the starlet "feels bad" for her frequent catfight partner, others in her inner circle aren't so sympathetic.

"Some people believe what goes around comes around," scoffs the LiLo pal. "Paris has done some terrible things. Maybe this is payback."

Hilton, however, doesn't seem to think that being forced to hole up in the amenity-lacking hoosegow is her karmic reward.

"She's completely and utterly devastated," a confidante tells the paper. "In her mind, this was never an option."

After Friday's ruling, "Paris was up all night," a mole reveals to E!'s Marc Malkin. "She doesn't want to eat. She goes from crying to being furious."
