Prop 8 Protest: A Call to the LGBTQ Community, Friends, & Family

I’m sure all would agree that with the election of Barack Obama, this week has been one of amazing wins in the world of equality! Still, Tuesday night was one of bitter-sweet celebration, as we came together to witness the first black man who will become our president, and watched in sadness as Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and California all voted down equal rights for all citizens. Pendants and bloggers alike have put their focus on Proposition 8, trying hard to find an explanation for the anti-gay wins in the face of a huge pro-equality event. Some have blamed the voters, others blame religious groups, and even others blame the LGBTQ community for not being able to mobilize on a larger enough scale. And you know what, there is truth in every argument.

As a community, we have to admit to the fact that we are polarized
in various ways. Honestly, I’m not sure what community isn’t and
I believe that our polarization is proof to our humanity - we are no
different than anyone else, regardless of color, creed, or sexual
orientation. Still, our polarization has hindered us from
mobalizing as one strong voice. We all come together in the month
of June to celebrate Gay Pride, but few of us are even aware of why Gay Pride exists. Gay Pride is a celebration to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969.

Many say that the Gay Rights Movement began in 1969, which means that we are still a young movement and have accomplished a great deal in such a short amount of time. The generation that fought for us in 1969 deserves our gratitude and respect. This is a generation of amazing people who fought for our ability to hold hands in the street, to speak out against hate, to dance to our own “thumpa thump”, witness television shows with a queer cast, and come together in the streets celebrating for an entire month! This is the generation that opened the doors for us to even have a conversation about gay marriage, and this is the generation that deserves our help and our voices now. On June 27th, 1969, this generation came together in protest, jumping from closets, taking to the streets, and mobilizing in ways this country had never seen before! And what happened?

The country was forced to respond. The Queer identity was forced
onto the front pages and coffee tables of people’s worlds and people
had to once and for all accept that we are human too!

Now, almost 40 years later we NEED to come together again. We
need to show this nation that we are ONE LOUD VOICE THAT DEMANDS TO BE HEARD! We need to be one organized unit. Our gay pride shouldn’t
be something we celebrate one month out of the year. Our
gratitude towards the ones who came before us shouldn’t be ignored and wasted away with one party after another. We beg to be given a
right that requires responsibility and commitment, yet we, as one
strong community, have not proven to this nation that we deserve to be taken seriously! The gay pride parade has become a great party,
but it has lost the memory of Stonewall and therefor given the nation another reason to cast us aside as irresponsible. It’s time we come together for debate, for public recognition, and for LOVE!

Let’s move as one full unit, on the same day, at the same hour, and
let’s show the United States of America that we too are UNITED CITIZENS EQAUL IN MIND, BODY, SPIRIT AND DESERVING OF FULL EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW!

On the steps of your City Hall on November 15th at 10:30am PST /
1:30pm EST, our community WILL take to the streets and speak out
against Proposition 8 and all of the other pro-equality losses that we have faced in our lifetimes, in our parents’ lifetimes, and for many generations before us. WE CAN’T DO THIS ALONE! WE NEED YOUR
HELP! We need organizers in every major city to work with us and
get out the protest! I know you’re all tired from all of the work
you’ve done for this great election year, but I’m asking for one more push! Let the country hear our voices together. Let them
see that we are a strong, adamant, and powerful community that deserves equal rights, and CAN’T BE DEFEATED!

Clay Gayken Is GAY..... Like DUH!!!!

People hits newsstands on New York and LA on Wednesday, and their new cover is a doozy. American Idol alum Clay Aiken and newborn son Parker pose for their first photos AND Aiken officially comes out.

Parker Foster Aiken was born on August 8 in North Carolina to Aiken's good friend Jaymes Foster, 50. The pair met when Aiken was a contestant on American Idol.

He was in "Spamalot" on Broadway earlier this year and is back of of last week.

Aiken has long remained silent about his sexuality. While he has legions of female fans called Claymates, but has also been referred to for years as "The Gaiken" by Kathy Griffin and has been allegedly solicited gay sex online.

When the AP asked for a copy of the issue in advance, the magazine refused. The cover tagline is all we'll get till it's out.

People's Interview:

Following the Aug. 8 birth of his son Parker, singer Clay Aiken is following through on a promise he made to himself as a new dad: to publicly acknowledge that he's gay.

"It was the first decision I made as a father," Aiken, 29, tells the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn't raised that way, and I'm not going to raise a child to do that."

Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans. "Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it's going to be a lot," said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot.

He adds that he hopes his fans "know that I've never intended to lie to anybody at all. ... But if they leave, I don't want them to leave hating me."

How He Came Out to His Family
The born-again Christian singer also reveals how he told his mother Faye he's gay four years ago. After dropping off his younger brother Brett, who was being deployed to Iraq, at Camp Lejeune, "I started crying in the car," Aiken remembers. "It was dark. I was sitting there, thinking to myself. I don't know why I started thinking about it ... I just started bawling. She made me pull over the car and it just came out."

So what was his mom's reaction? "She started crying. She was obviously somewhat stunned. But she was very supportive and very comforting." Even now, Aiken admits, "She still struggles with things quite a bit, but she's come a long way."

As for his own child, Aiken tells PEOPLE that Parker – who was conceived via in vitro fertilization with his best friend, music producer Jaymes Foster – will be raised in an environment that is "accepting and allowing him to be happy."

Says Aiken: "I have no idea if he'll be gay or straight. It's not something I'll have anything to do with, or that he'll have anything to do with. It's already probably up inside the code there ... No matter what the situation you're in, if you're raised in a loving environment, that's the most important thing."

Gay Or Not Gay.... Whatever

This (Yesterday) morning's Daily News blind item—on a divorced comic star exploring a "groovy" new persona as an openly gay man—was as obvious as they get. Some of you commenters told us that the guy we were all guessing, Mike Myers, star of the "groovy baby" catchphrase-apalooza Austin Powers films and the current dud The Love Guru, has been out 'n proud in Toronto for years. Fair enough. We're not sure why it is that the Daily News would bother featuring this as a "blind item" only to use such dead giveaway clues, other than that they it would be too gauche to "out" Myers, um, outright. Seems like a bit of nasty piling-on to Myer's already miserable Love Guru bomb of a weekend.

New York Is Half Way There

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Gov. David Paterson of New York has told state agencies to recognize same-sex marriages performed in states and countries where they are legal, his spokeswoman said Wednesday.

New York agencies have been told to recognize same-sex marriages performed in places where they are legal.

The governor's legal counsel told state agencies in a May 14 memo to revise policies and regulations to recognize same-sex marriages performed in California and Massachusetts as well as Canada and other countries that allow gays and lesbians to marry, said Erin Duggan, the governor's spokeswoman.

The memo informed state agencies that failing to recognize gay marriages would violate the New York's human rights law, Duggan said.

The directive follows a February ruling from a New York state appeals court. That decision says that legal same-sex marriages performed in other jurisdictions are entitled to recognition in New York.

"This was in direct response to a court ruling," Duggan told CNN. "Just to make sure all the state agencies are on the same page." See what rules your state has about same-sex unions »

Duggan says that the court's decision was consistent with the findings of several lower courts in New York State.

The governor's legal counsel sent the memo one day before the California Supreme Court struck down a ban on gay marriage in that state. Court officials in California counties may begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on June 17, state officials said Wednesday.

Massachusetts legalized same-sex marriages in 2004, and gay couples need not be state residents there to wed. However, then-Gov. Mitt Romney resurrected a 1913 law barring non-resident marriages in the state if the marriage would be prohibited in the partners' home state.

Subsequent court and agency decisions have determined that only residents of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Mexico may marry in Massachusetts, unless the parties say they plan to move there after the marriage.

New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey and Connecticut permit civil unions, while California has a domestic-partner registration law. More than a dozen other states give same-sex couples some legal rights, as do some other countries.

Of Course He's Gay......

Anytime Orlando Bloom steps out in public with a guy alone, it's automatically reported that it's his new lover or that he's gay.... sad sad sad....

So to be on the safe side, anyone rumored to be gay should never go out in public alone with someone from the same sex....

So what if he is????? It's really none of our business.... ay ay ay

Jake And Orlando Dating!!!!

Okay, I don't know that but who knew that they're actually friends. I mean which gay bar did they meet or was it a sauna? KIDDING!!!!

Orlando and Jake shared a meal together last night at Ita Cho (which is, incidentally, the restaurant Orlando visited before his infamous accident) -- who knew they were pals? I guess now that Jake's with Reese, he doesn't mind Orlando having picked up his sloppy seconds! Of course, once they saw the cameras, they decided to divide and conquer...with Jake going out the front and Orlando coming out of the rear! At least this time, Orlando made sure he stayed in the passenger seat!

Publicity For The Movie "Rendition"

It's like cut this bullshit already. There's like no way Jake and Reese ever going to be a couple unless they're promoting a movies such as the one coming out this month, "Rendition".

Most likely they're BFF.......

Anyways, here's the Sun Times report:

After first deciding to be "just friends," as reported here recently, apparently Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are again exploring the possibility of a romantic relationship. According to friends, Gyllenhaal is pushing to get things back on track. Understandably, Witherspoon is somewhat "gun-shy" about leaping into a new relationship, considering the recent collapse of what many long considered a "perfect" marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

In recent days, Gyllenhaal and Witherspoon have enjoyed several quiet dinners, always at Reese's home (to avoid the chance of being spotted by the paparazzi). I also understand that Gyllenhaal, who has made no secret of his desire to have a family, has spent a significant amount of time playing with Witherspoon's children. One dinner reportedly included Jake's sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and her fiance, Peter Sarsgaard, who co-stars with the couple in "Rendition," opening Oct. 19.

There is said to be talk of all of them celebrating Thanksgiving together, possibly at a secluded villa on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Spokesfolks for all concerned declined to comment.

So Jake is a nice guy who likes having dinner with Reese and playing with her kids.....

It's A Gay World After All - Part 3

Wentworth Miller is dating actor Luke McFarlane, T.R. Knight's ex.

Here are pictures from their public outing this past weekend.

It is beautiful when powerful names in Hollywood can be themselves and provide a better name for the gay community. Hence why I continue outing on this blog.

It's A Gay World After All

With yesterday's posting of who's who in Hollywood's gay/bisexual world, JJ's Blog has more to say...

As requested by many fans around the world, lets name more stars that are gay or bi.

After adding yesterday's blog post, I have been hit up by so many high profile individuals in the entertainment industry that are leaking information to me like rain drops...

Rapper Big Tigger was formerly with Karrine Steffans, aka "Superhead," and while with Steffans he was messing with Tyson Beckford. I got this vibe from Tyson but never thought he went down like this.

It is said from a TOP Atlanta celebrity stylists that R. Kelly, Ja Rule, DMX all slept with their male fashion stylist. Oh and R. Kelly's brother outed him a while back too...

What man hasn't DIDDY slept with??? Wendy Williams has never been afraid of outing Sean Colmbs. (Say brother on the DL???)

There are police records of "Pastor" Mase picking up Tyranny's in Atlanta & NY...

Ludacris, back when he was "Chris Luva-Luva", was sleeping with a random gay guy, who is now a gay porn star. The porn stars name is Gordon. I don't know what his porn name is...

Another TOP Hollywood insider says Sug Knight & LL Cool J were in a limo with a random friend of hers, while LL was rolling on X, and he was licking a beer bottle as if it were a penis towards Sug Knight...

Then you have the obvious Missy Elliott, Trina, DaBrat lesbian encounters that have been witnessed by several hundreds of people in ATL

Swizz Beats...Wendy Williams outed him before too...

Ne-Yo is just obivous..Mediatakeout.com has done some break through stories on his sexuality!!!

I knew a girl in LA who was Magic Johnson's assistant, and she talked about the gay sex parties that Magic, Eddie Murphy, and Arsenio used to have together.

Johnnie Gill & Eddie Murphy have been sleeping together for years....

Missy Elliott was having sex with singer Trina until Da Brat stole her away. Also Missy & "America's Next Top Model," Eva Pigford were together. Eva was also sleeping the woman who was the Executive Producer for Girlfriends and that's how she got her own show on BET!

And the list of some that are gay/lesbian or at least bisexual:

* Cuba Gooding Jr.
* Jamie Fox
* Usher
* Will Smith
* Jada Pickett Smith
* Rapper Eve
* Rapper DaBrat
* Merv Griffin
* Clive Davis
* Clay Aiken = DUH!!!!
* Kelly Clarkson
* Lance Bass = Obviously!!!
* JC Chasez = DUH!!!!
* Jonathan Knight
* EJay Day
* Ricky Martin = DUH!!!!
* RJ Helton
* Ryan Cabrera
* Alicia Keys
* Queen Latifah
* PINK
* Rosie O'Donnell
* Cillian Murphy
* Tom Cruise = Double DUH!!!!!
* Ellen
* Paris Hilton
* Lindsay Lohan
* Samantha Ronson
* Ryan Seacrest
* Angelina Jolie
* Jodie Foster
* TR Knight
* Jonathan Taylor Thomas
* Neil Patrick Harris
* John Travolta = Double DUH!!!!
* Carmen Electra
* Britney Spears
* Elton John
* Mariah Carey

Anyways, I'm one of those who think that people's sexual orientation is no big deal and should not be the focal point of their being. I also believe that if they do not want to come out of the closet then we should not force them to.... that is a personal choice... with that said, it's still interesting to read about this.....

So anyways, expect some major lawsuit for JJ's Blog anytime soon....
sad sad sad..... shame shame shame

OMG!!!! Idol: The Musical

This is soooo funny so I won't rehash the story:

AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN’s fans have inspired a new Broadway musical.

The ‘Claymates’ will be the focus of a new stageshow, called Idol: The Musical.

The project is described as "a satirical musical comedy that focuses on the outrageous and delusional fan base of American Idol".
Set in Ohio, the show follows a group of devoted high school kids (Fag hags in the making) obsessed by Idol and Aiken.
T
o pass the time, the group gathers in a barn to ‘worship’ a shrine to Aiken, who represents their dreams of leaving home and becoming stars.

What do you think????? It's soooooo sooooooo gay!!!!!

David Hyde Pierce Is Official Gay

We all remember Niles on the hit sitcom show 'Fraiser' and we know that that 'Niles" guy must be gay.... well, it's official, he's so like out of the closet.

In a recent AP story on Pierce that hit CNN.com recently, among other places. The story notes:

"He worked at Playwrights Horizons, the Public Theater, Shakespeare in the Park and a lot of regional theaters such as the Guthrie in Minneapolis, Chicago's Goodman and Long Wharf in New Haven, Conn. Pierce got to Los Angeles in the early 1990s when his partner, actor-writer-producer Brian Hargrove, wanted to write for television."

AfterElton.com contacted Pierce's representation who confirmed that Hargrove is indeed Pierce's life partner.

Good for Pierce!!!!! Hope this will help other celebrities to come out of their closet soon......

Here We Go Again !!!!! Bigotry At Its Best !!!

Ewa Sowinska, Poland's government-appointed children rights watchdog, said she was concerned the popular BBC children's show, Tinky Winky (purple) and the other Teletubbies promoted homosexuality and she would ask psychologists to advise if this was the case.
"I noticed (Tinky Winky) has a lady's purse, but I didn't realise he's a boy. At first I thought the purse would be a burden for this Teletubby ... Later I learned that this may have a homosexual undertone."

The 10-year-old Teletubbies, which features four rotund, brightly coloured characters loved by children around the world, became a target of religious conservatives after Jerry Falwell, the American evangelical who died recently suggested Tinky Winky could be homosexual.

Eric McCormack Is A Big Screaming Queen

National Enquirer reports:

The 44-year old erupted after the crew told him that a booster seat he brought onboard for his 4-year old son, Finnigan, was too large, violated regulations and had to be stowed with the luggage.

The actor was taking an Alaska Airlines flight from L.A. to Vancouver when crew members barred the non-regulation booster. "Eric screeched like a banshee when he didn't get his way," said the insider. "He yelled at crew members- telling them his family had used the seat on many flights in the past," said the insider. "But the price tag was still on it. And when an attendant turned over the seat, a warning label said 'not to be used on aircraft!'"

John McCain Supports Lesbian Love

Okay not really.....

John McCain's myspace page used a template made by Mike Davidson. Anyone can use it but you aren't supposed to hotlink the images and you have to give Davidson credit. The McCain team didn't do that, so Davidson changed the hotlinked image to show how much McCain supports gay marriage.

"Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay marriage…particularly marriage between two passionate females."
