Ed Speelers Is A Laborer

Just over a month ago, Ed Speleers was walking the red carpet as the star of "Eragon", the dragon movie that would go on to earn almost a quarter billion dollars at the box office. Today, he's making 14 dollars an hour as a laborer in East Sussex, England. His IMDb page lists no future projects but his family says he's looking at various roles. A source on the worksite says:

"It's a far cry from the red carpet. Edward is very much the brickie when he is here. He's chiseling walls and puffing cigs in a hard hat and fluorescent jacket. He's a nice, down-to-earth lad."

Some Boy Have All The Luck

The unknown star of the latest fantasy blockbuster has admitted he finds it "mind-blowing" to be able to call co-stars including John Malkovich and Jeremy Irons his friends.

Edward Speleers, 19, had only performed in school Shakespeare plays before he beat hundreds of young rivals to take the lead in Eragon.

Speaking after the UK premiere in Leicester Square, the British actor said: "My friends have all just finished their A-levels and are about to go on their gap years, and here I am acting in a film opposite some of my biggest childhood heroes."

He added: "I was appearing in Hamlet in my school play and I heard of this audition and knew I had to go for it."

"My father called me up and told me after the second round that I’d got the part. I didn’t believe it then and sometimes I still don’t believe it now."

Word of advise: Stay away from the Hiltons and do not do drugs.

Industrial Light and Magic special-effects wizard Stefen Fangmeier makes the leap into the director's chair with this coming-of-age fantasy concerning a young boy whose discovery of a mysterious dinosaur egg leads him on a predestined journey to become a Dragon Rider and defend his peaceful world against an evil king. Based on the best-selling novel by Christopher Paolini, Eragon tells the tale of the titular character (Ed Speleers), a humble farm boy living in the land of Alagaësia, whose life is forever changed when he discovers that he has been chosen to fight the most powerful enemy his world has ever known. Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, and Djimon Hounsou co-star in a film produced by Davis Entertainment and adapted from the novel by screenwriters Peter Buchman, Larry Konner, and Mark Rosenthal.

Ed Speleers starring as Eragon. The guy is 18 years old and already the hero of a big-budget Hollywood fantasy movie.
There isn't yet much to find about this blonde hottie. Ed was born on Dec. 21th in 1987. He beat out 180,000 other applicants to win the title role in Eragon, which is based on the popular novel by author Christopher Paolini. Ed attended at Eastbourne College, a private boarding school located in East Sussex. He finished school in June 2006 after completing his A-Levels. He was suggested for the role of Peter Pevensie in the Narnia series, but in the end William Peter Moseley got the part.
