Jason Bourne Hates James Bond

Matt Damon hates James Bond and thinks he’s “repulsive.” The actor, who plays CIA agent Jason Bourne in the Bourne Identity film trilogy, has lashed out at Ian Fleming’s famed British spy, currently portrayed by Daniel Craig.

“He’s repulsive. Bond is an imperialist, misogynist, sociopath who goes around bedding women and swilling martinis and killing people.”

“The movies have a formula, they stick to it, and it makes them a lot of money. They know what they are doing and they’re going to keep doing it.”

Holy Couple In Haiti With Matt Damon

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 -- Former president Bill Clinton concluded his fourth annual philanthropy conference Friday by joining actor Matt Damon and rap artist Wyclef Jean in announcing about $100 million in recovery aid to hurricane-ravaged Haiti.

Capping the week-long Clinton Global Initiative that convened here amid a historic Wall Street collapse, Clinton issued a call for increasing the commitment of the world's wealthiest people to helping its most vulnerable.

"We cannot afford to walk away from this work," Clinton said. "Someday, meetings like this will be utterly irrelevant because people will behave in the way we try to behave as second nature."

The Haiti aid was one of the most significant announcements during a conference in which Clinton said hundreds of philanthropists, corporate chiefs and world leaders committed about $8 billion to initiatives that could affect 158 million people.

About 20 organizations came together in pledging a combined $100 million toward improving education, health care, nutrition and business opportunities in Haiti, a Caribbean nation devastated this summer by a succession of four hurricanes. Clinton, who took a personal interest in Haiti when he and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), honeymooned there, likened the country to the South Asian region laid to waste by the 2004 tsunami and said he would seek additional funds in coming weeks.

"The losses were so great in Haiti, but the talent and yearning for a better future is also great," Clinton said. "Our goal should be to build them back better than we did before the storm hit."

Jean, a Haitian native, said his foundation would provide thousands of meals for hungry families, microenterprise grants for businesses and seeds, fertilizer and training for farmers. Damon's ONEXONE foundation said it would raise at least $3 million for local nongovernmental organizations in Haiti.

Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not attend the initiative but called Clinton on Friday morning and said they would help rebuild 12 schools in Haiti, as they have been doing in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina three years ago.

"All this materialized in one month, and it shows you what we can all do if we work together," Clinton said. "This is the beginning."

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who made a surprise appearance at Clinton's conference, said the teetering global economy presents an opportunity to build a "truly global society."

"We have a world that is unsustainable; we have a world that is unsafe; and we have for many people a world that is unfair," Brown said. "The causes of the world require us to act together."

Matt Damon Got His Wish

People Magazine has named Matt Damon their "Sexiest Man Alive"!!!! I bet Matty is having a big laugh about this considering he did say he'll never win such an award like his buddies Bradley and Georgy.

Didn't they make a bet about this? I will do my research and update.

Other men on the lists include Patrick Dempsey, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, James Macavoy, Johnny Depp, Dave Annable, Will Smith, Javier Bardem, Shemar Moore, Ben Affleck, Adrian Grenier, Will Yun Lee and Justin Timberlake.

Matt Damon On Lindsay Lohan

"I think there a lot of people who want to help her out, and it's a very personal thing. Most people know someone in their lives that's struggling with a disease like that, and the reality is you can only support them and it's got to come from them - it's her choice ultimately. "I mean, look, she's very young, she's very talented; it's easy to look from the outside and say, 'Oh, you have this big opportunity.' "It's really hard to know that when you're in the middle of it, and to see life from any other perspective other than your own - particularly when you're that young. She's obviously hit a chord with people, because people are so fascinated with her, so everybody's pulling for her, that's for sure."

A Well Deserved Star For Matt Damon

Unlike some this one is well deserved.

Yesterday Matt Damon became the 2343rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I wondered who paid the $25,000 fee. Probably the producers of "The Bourne Ultimatum".

Speaking of which, the "Bourne Ultimatum" will be out on August 3 so do go and see it.

Time's Interview With Ocean 13's Stars

Slow news day.... but then again it's only 845am.... plus I think this is quite interesting even if it's long...

TIME's Josh Tyrangiel sat down in Cannes with a very loose George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and series newcomer Ellen Barkin.

TIME: When you have so many stars in a movie, and it's the third in a trilogy, how do you keep it from going off the rails and becoming Cannonball Run 3?
CLOONEY: Well, we like to think it's more like Lord of the Rings, in the trilogy sense.
PITT: Wait, what's wrong with Cannonball Run 3?
DAMON: I don't even think there was a Cannonball 3. Look, you have us confused with deep thinkers. You've already put more thought into why we did the movie than we did.
CLOONEY: You're thinking that we're not just whores for money. There's your mistake.

So you don't get actorly and defensive if people think, Sure looks like they had a good time making that movie?
BARKIN: I do, because I did a lot of research on my character. [Laughter]
CLOONEY: The idea that every time you do a film you're supposed to be tortured confuses me. I mean, guys who say, "Oh, it's really tough, my character is really suffering"—come on. For us, even in the rotten ones we've had a good time. I don't think you have to suffer. Maybe Matt had to suffer.
DAMON: Yeah, I did. I had to go deep to find Linus.
BARKIN: Was that your character's name?
DAMON: Yeah.
BARKIN: I'm sorry, I only read my lines.
CLOONEY: We like that Matt's done three different Linuses in three different movies.
DAMON: I have done him kind of different each time.
BARKIN: It's important for him to change it up, while Brad and George have no range, so they just have to keep playing the same parts.

You were supposed to do Ocean's Twelve...
BARKIN: I did do Ocean's Twelve. My scene got cut. You did not do your homework.

I suppose I should've asked to come on set for Ocean's Twelve so I'd be prepared for the Ocean's Thirteen interview.
CLOONEY: You should have been there. There was some deep stuff going on on that one too.
BARKIN: [To Damon] I had an accent in that scene, didn't I? I had a Russian accent. Or did [director Steven Soderbergh] make me do it without the accent?
DAMON: Yeah, I think he was very polite and was like,"The accent's good. Let's just protect ourselves here and, uh ... " [Laughter] But that scene is on the new dvd they're doing, the "Explosive Extras" or whatever they call it. [More Laughter] What? They do that on the Bourne dvds. It's all these shitty scenes that we didn't put in the movie.

You've got Al Pacino in this movie, and previously you had Albert Finney and Julia Roberts. Are there any people you've approached who have actually said no?
CLOONEY: There is one. Bruce Willis turned down the first one.
BARKIN: Whose part?
CLOONEY: Actually, it was mine. He was supposed to be Danny Ocean, and he did end up doing the second one. I think he regretted not being in the first. But otherwise, pretty much anytime you go to someone with this, they sign on. We couldn't believe Al wanted to do it.

Were there any hoo-ah! moments in his performance?
BARKIN: What did he just call me?
CLOONEY: No, you're not a hoo-ah. No, no.
BARKIN: That was not nice. Not a nice Jewish boy.

Am I being ethnically profiled?
BARKIN: Yes, you are. I'm so happy there's another Jew in the room because when Steven isn't around ...
CLOONEY: I hate to tell you, but Soderbergh is Swedish.

Are you worried Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and George Clooney are going to start a pogrom?
BARKIN: I worry that every time I go to my hotel room, there are going to be areas that are cordoned off from me.
PITT: What's a pogrom?

It's an anti-Jewish riot. Pretty common in 19th century Eastern Europe.
CLOONEY: [Jokingly] You guys got a long memory. Jeez.
DAMON: Uh, anyway, I don't think anybody in this room is in a position to accuse Pacino of a hoo-ah! moment, especially in this movie, with some of the performances we turn in.
PITT: Hard to say somebody else is chewing scenery when you're wearing a fake nose.
DAMON: Yeah, I think Al was over the top!
CLOONEY: Our motto is, Less is nothing.

Shall we talk politics for a moment? I'm sure like most actors you're all watching the Republican field, just waiting for a candidate to get behind.
CLOONEY: I'm just hoping Gingrich gets in. Come on, Newt! Actually there's a really good field out there. I like Barack Obama a lot. I've spent some time with him.
PITT: You just cost him votes.
CLOONEY: I've actually had that conversation with him, just saying "Look, I'll give you whatever support you need—including staying completely away from you." Actors have done a lot of damage to candidates lately. My father ran for Congress in 2004, and it was "Hollywood vs. the Heartland!" My father was Hollywood.
PITT: I'm just hungry for some honesty and leadership. And I'm following them all—on all sides.
DAMON: I'm an Obama guy too. I think a lot of the problems in the world would be mitigated if he were the face of our country. I haven't ever met him or talked to him, but he's the first person in a long time who I've been inspired by.
CLOONEY: When other politicians stop and listen, that's how you know what charisma is. You can't teach that. He walks into a room and you go, "That's a leader."

On the subject of charisma, you've each been called the last great movie star at one point or another. Are we really running out of movie stars, and is that, like, a problem?
CLOONEY: The last real movie stars were probably Redford and Newman. And things were different then. There wasn't this amazing amount of magazines and information about them.
DAMON: We didn't know anything about them.
CLOONEY: There was mystique. They're 60 feet high, and you paid your buck and a half to go see them. But that's gone. People know everything about everybody now.
PITT: Jaws came along and proved you could make huge money with blockbusters, and it set this thing in motion that has lowered the subject matter. People like George have been getting good stuff out there, but it's an industry that pushes people out on the big stage too fast, before they're ready, and it eats them up as well. It's a different kind of arena now.
BARKIN: Think about it. Do we know anything about Robert Redford's children? Does he even have any?
DAMON: I worked with him, and I don't know.
PITT: I have four, if you haven't heard.

As we're talking, there are paparazzi in boats out in the harbor taking pictures. Having just been through the celebrity muck of Cannes, who gets it the worst?
CLOONEY: There's no question, it's Brad.
PITT: Well, exponentially, with us together ...
CLOONEY: But even before he was with [Angelina Jolie], we used to chum the water with him.
PITT: This is not a joke. They used to send me out to take the hits.
CLOONEY: We were at the airport in Italy. So I walk off the plane, and it's "Hey, Giorgio!" And I go, "Look! Brad Pitt!" and they're gone.
DAMON: You described it once as "People were stepping on our faces trying to get to Brad."
PITT: Ah, well, I don't take it as a compliment.

What other leading men do you like?
CLOONEY: I like Clive Owen a lot. Did you see Children of Men?
DAMON: That was my favorite movie last year.
CLOONEY: Me too.
DAMON: One of the most underrated actors right now as a leading man is Christian Bale. He turned in two great performances last year. He was great in The Prestige, and he was great in this movie called Harsh Times.
BARKIN: I like the very young Ryan Gosling.
CLOONEY: That couple—he goes out with Rachel McAdams ...
BARKIN: Splitsville. Don't you read Us?
CLOONEY: Well, those were two of the most talented young actors I've seen in a long time.
They're not dead.
BARKIN: And they should never have broken up—just for the sake of their careers.

What was it like being the only woman in the cast?
BARKIN: Exhausting.
CLOONEY: You're a woman?
BARKIN: I tried to pack 14 of you into just a few weeks. It's a lot of ground to cover.
CLOONEY: If there's anybody who could do it ...
BARKIN: I started with Carl [Reiner] and worked back from there.
CLOONEY: Only fair. He could go at any minute.

This is your first big movie in a long time ...
BARKIN: It's my first movie in a long time. You don't have to qualify that.

O.K. It's commonly held that roles get better for men in their 30s and 40s and significantly worse for women. Do actors talk about that discrepancy?
DAMON: It's a terrifically unfair business.
CLOONEY: It hasn't been equitable in a long, long time. It's incredibly unfair. You don't see a lot of 60-year-old women with 20-year-old men onscreen.
PITT: You will in Benjamin Button. [Pitt is currently shooting The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in which his character ages backward.] Sixty and 20 to be exact.
CLOONEY: You're playing 20? Really?
DAMON: There's a lot of cgi. [To Pitt and Clooney] Is it true that you were the last two actors up for the hitchhiker role in Thelma & Louise?
CLOONEY: It was pretty embarrassing. They brought Brad and me in, and they just made us take our shirts off and stand there for a while, and then they picked Brad.
PITT: That is absolutely not true.

Did you know each other at that point?
CLOONEY: I knew him afterward.
DAMON: "Hey, that's the f___ing guy that took my job!"
CLOONEY: My friends said, "You want to see Thelma & Louise?" And I'm like, "F___ Thelma & Louise!" But it was fairly obvious when you saw the movie why I didn't get it, 'cause Brad just knocked it out of the park.
PITT: Aw, they were just grooming you for Batman.

Sexiest Man 2007?

The 'Good German' heartthrob currently holds the prestigious title, awarded by America's People magazine, and has made a bet with his two friends that none of the trio must be awarded the honour.

A source told Scotland's Daily Record newspaper: "The sexiest man thing has become a real in-joke for George, Brad and Matt.

"George is making things interesting and if any of them win it, they have to pay up. George has no intention of losing. He's even thinking of putting on weight and growing a beard again." George, 45, has won the title on two occasions, as has Brad Pitt. Matt Damon has previously joked about his disappointment that he is not considered as sexy as his friends, having never been bestowed the honour.

Ben Affleck Feels Worthless

The 'Good Will Hunting' star has received excellent reviews for his latest film 'Hollwoodland' but had previously experienced a run of flops and admits he felt worthless.

Ben is quoted the Hollywood Reporter website as saying: "I have a doubt about my own worth, and a lot of times, I experience conflict about what is the social merit of doing this. But for me, acting has been really torturous. It feels like a lot of failure and very little success, and it is hard to divorce it from what is really honest and true. It has only been good when I have been able to put away my own vanity, my own self-consciousness, my own sense of how each piece of behaviour that I am engaging in is going to be interpreted by somebody."

Affleck - who has a daughter, Violet, with his wife Jennifer Garner - has confessed he chose to star in bad films because he wanted to be rich and famous.

He said: "Part of being an actor is the choices you make. Choices that I have made, a lot of them poorly!

"I made my choices for a combination of reasons - wanting to be successful, wanting people to like me, wanting to make money - some of them good.

Hotness Is Not A Homewrecker

Angelina Jolie says stealing another woman's husband is "one of the worst things you can do."

The actress - who first met partner Brad Pitt on the set of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' when he was married to Jennifer Aniston - says she hated her character in her latest movie, 'The Good Shepherd', because she seduces a married man, played by Matt Damon.

Angelina - who now has a baby with Brad, Shiloh - is quoted by Britain's Grazia magazine: "She does one of the worst things a woman could do. One scene I actually had trouble shooting because I'm so against that behavior.

"She seduces him, and entraps him into having a child. There's not much worse than that, is there? But they're both at fault. They both had sex that night."

Just last week, Angelina vehemently denied she and Brad had embarked on a relationship while he was still with Jennifer and insisted they remained "just good friends" until he split from the former 'Friends' star.

She said: "He was married to his best friend who he loves and respects.

"Because of the film we were brought together and this strange partnership suddenly happened. I realized I couldn't wait to get to work.

"We spent a lot of time thinking and talking about what we wanted in life and realised we wanted very, very similar things. Then we remained good friends for a long time. And life developed in a way where we could be together and it felt like we should."

Ocean's 13

Premiere Magazine has a little preview of Ocean’s 13 as Matt Damon, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt head back to Vegas — A little let down by Ocean’s Twelve? You’re not alone. “We got away from the reality and that disappointed me,” Bernie Mac says. “But this one is what Ocean’s Twelve should have been.” The original eleven return to Vegas, and their former enemy Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) having butted heads with badass mogul Willie Banks (Al Pacino), comes to them for help. The crew must engineer a nine-minute period during which every gambler will win at Banks’s casino, and the plan hinges on Banks’s right-hand lady. While Thirteen explains the demise of Danny’s relationship with his wife Tess, the leader of the pack still managed to get his hands on some booty. “George kept grabbing my ass [on the set],” Mac says. “There are two things that you dont’ do to a black man: one, talk about his mama; two, grab his ass. Please tell George that.”

Matt and Ben Reunited

Matt Damon is planning to work with Ben Affleck again.

The best friends shot to fame when they co-wrote and starred in 'Good Will Hunting' together, but after Damon's career rocketed and Affleck starred in a series of flops, it was widely believed they had gone their separate ways.

It now seems 'Bourne Identity' star Damon is considering reuniting the pair.

Damon said: "Ben and I found a project to co-direct that we might be able to get off the ground. We're just kind of on the hunt for something good.

"Directing feels like a natural extension, having written and then acted for all these years. It just feels like I've got to try it."

Matt Damon Kissing Angelina

Matt Damon has branded his love scenes with Angelina Jolie "weird".

Damon, who is close friends with Jolie's lover Brad Pitt, has admitted he found it difficult filming the steamy scenes.

He told US TV show 'Good Morning America': "Doing a love scene with the girlfriend of a good friend is weird. We all know each other."

Jolie, 31, revealed Pitt supported their scenes and even wished them luck.

She added to the programme: "In reality both the people we're involved with couldn't have cared less about that because they know us. It's one of those things where it's like the least threatening person. You know, 'Good luck to you guys, I hope it's not too awkward.'

She added: "The difference between kissing Matt and kissing Brad is simple. One's a friend and one's my lover."

More Brad and Angie

ANGELINA Jolie has Brad Pitt well-trained. The Hollywood hunk made sure not to upstage his Oscar-winning love at Robert De Niro's after-party the other night for his new flick, "The Good Shepherd," which co-stars Jolie and Matt Damon. Pitt hovered in the shadows as best he could while Jolie held court with Liam Neeson, Oliver Stone, Grace Hightower, Harvey Weinstein and other luminaries at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Then, playing cocktail waiter, he ordered Ketel One vodka martinis for Jolie and himself. Pitt also fawned over Damon, asking him if he'd worked out to prepare for his role as one of the covert founders of the CIA. Asked what she'd done for luck. Laughing, she said: "Luck? I don't need to do anything to get luck. I already have luck. I brought my luck along tonight, and he's sitting right with me." And her luck stepped back to give his lady the whole spotlight. Brad's comment to me: "Hey, I'm off-duty tonight." Pitt was sighted the day before with son Maddox at Mars 2112 in Midtown, where he patiently waited in line and looked amused that the woman at the front counter had no idea who he was after he gave her the fake name "Jack M."

Matt Damon Married

Matt Damon has spoken out about his recent decision to get married in secret to girlfriend Luciana Barroso.

The duo tied the knot on December 9 in a secret ceremony at City Hall in New York. Damon explained: "We got married actually at the City Hall in New York. There was this rumour that we were going to get married. It was right before the holidays last year and we didn't want to have people hanging outside our house and stuff, so we just kind of nipped it in the bud and got it over with.

"We had her daughter, my step-daughter there, and actually the mayor was there, Mayor (Michael) Bloomberg...It was very nice of him to come in, it was a beautiful morning actually."
