Gayelles Are Pissed!!!!

Here are some of the reactions to the Proposition 8 passing (this Prop 8 means banning gay marriage):

Melissa Etheridge:

Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books.

Okay, cool I don't mean to get too personal here but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes too. Wow, come to think of it, there are quite a few of us fortunate gay folks that will be having some extra cash this year. What recession? We're gay! I am sure there will be a little box on the tax forms now single, married, divorced, gay, check here if you are gay, yeah, that's not so bad. Of course all of the waiters and hairdressers and UPS workers and gym teachers and such, they won't have to pay their taxes either.

Samantha Ronson

“I guess people care more about farm animals than they do their fellow man, that’s really sad to me. Yes, I am glad that the chickens will have more room and better conditions as they wait to die, but I just think it’s frightening that people show more compassion for tomorrow’s dinner than for the chef.”

She adds: “Yup, Miss Piggy and Chicken Little may rest easy, but gay people in Florida and California can no longer get married and gay couples in Arkansas can’t adopt children. God forbid a loving family (regardless of sexual orientation) give a needy child a home! Oh well, I guess one out of four ain’t bad!”

Ellen DeGeneres

“Watching the returns on election night was an amazing experience. Barack Obama is our new president. Change is here. I, like millions of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step towards equality. We were watching history.

“This morning, when it was clear that Proposition 8 had passed in California, I can’t explain the feeling I had. I was saddened beyond belief. Here we just had a giant step towards equality and then on the very next day, we took a giant step away.

“I believe one day a ‘ban on gay marriage’ will sound totally ridiculous. In the meantime, I will continue to speak out for equality for all of us.”

Christina Aguilera

"Last night, there was a whole rally that I saw for Prop. 8," she told MTV News. "A lot of people came out with their signs, and I think [Prop. 8] is discrimination and I don't understand how people can be so closed-minded and so judgmental. We chose an African-American president, and it means so much ... [it's] a time in history of great change and open-mindedness. Why is this any different? It just doesn't make sense to me. Why you would put so much money behind something [aimed at] stopping from people loving each other and bonding together? I just don't understand it. It's hard for me to grasp. But I would've been out there with my rally sign as well."

Ellen DeGeneres Laments

Ellen DeGeneres says she is "saddened beyond belief" by the passage of a constitutional amendment in California banning gay marriage.

The talk show host said in a statement Wednesday to The Associated Press that she, "like millions of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step toward equality" by electing Barack Obama as president.

DeGeneres says that with the passage of California's Proposition 8, "we took a giant step away."

DeGeneres wed actress Portia (POR'-shuh) de Rossi in August, following a May Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in California.

She contributed $100,000 to fight the amendment on Tuesday's ballot.

DeGeneres asserts she will "continue to speak out for equality for all of us."

A Message From Ellen DeGeneres

I had a big, big weekend. I got married to Portia de Rossi! Sorry, John Stamos ... this one's taken."

You may notice something different about the way I'm writing ... it's fancy. This is the font I type in now that I'm MARRIED! I do a lot of things differently now ... I say, 'I do' a lot. For example: Who wants to do pilates? I do. Would you like a Mountain Dew? I do. Do you know why I pulled you over? I do. And that was just this morning.

The wedding was everything we hoped it would be. I wish I could've invited all of you. But I have some pictures and video I can show you when Season 6 starts on September 8th. I can't wait to see them too ... it was all a blur. See you then.

Blissfully yours, The just married Mrs. DeGeneres

'People' Is Fast!!!!

It was an evening of love, laughter, and a few tears for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who exchanged personal wedding vows in front of their closest family and friends on Saturday at their home in L.A.

In an exclusive interview and photos, DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, share the most romantic moments of the night with PEOPLE.

"What can I say? I'm the luckiest girl in the world," says DeGeneres. "She's officially off the market. No one else gets her. And now she'll cook and clean for me."

Amid candles and flowers by Mark's Garden, both brides, wearing designs by Zac Posen, sat on floor pillows along with author Wayne Dyer, who officiated the ceremony.

After exchanging Neil Lane rings, the couple and their guests sat down for an all-vegan menu prepared by their personal chef David Silberkleit while Sweet Lady Jane created a vegan red velvet cake for the celebration.

"The love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day," says de Rossi. "And one that we'll never forget."

Ellen DeGeneres Is Getting Married!!!!!

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, 35, will wed this weekend in California, Usmagazine.com has learned exclusively.

The pair are planning a small, intimate ceremony with only a few close friends and family.

Following the California Supreme Court's monumental ruling that same sex couple's have the "right to marry," DeGeneres announced she planned to wed her longtime girlfriend on a taping of her show in May.

"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited," DeGeneres, 50, gushed.

DeGeneres reflected on their upcoming nuptials at the Daytime Emmy Awards in Hollywood in June.

"I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don't all have the same rights," DeGeneres said.

Of the preparations, DeGeneres joked, "Planning a wedding is very stressful. It's crazy. My gardener is now invited."

DeGeneres and De Rossi began dating in December 2004.

"I feel like I found my perfect fit," DeGeneres said of De Rossi in an interview with the Advocate.

"She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her," DeGeneres added.

Do I Hear A Wedding Bell Soon????/

Ellen DeGeneres gave Portia de Rossi a glittering ring with pink diamonds for their upcoming wedding that will air in part on DeGeneres's talk show.

"Yes, we have set a wedding date," said DeGeneres, who walked the red carpet with de Rossi at Friday night's 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

De Rossi wore a green satin Lanvin gown and a Neil Lane ring on her wedding finger. The ring was a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds.

DeGeneres, 50, who won an Emmy for outstanding talk-show host for the fourth year in a row, announced her plans to wed longtime girlfriend de Rossi, on her show back in May, shortly after California's Supreme Court ruled the previous ban on gay marriages as unconstitutional.

The two stars are in the midst of preparations for what DeGeneres calls "the dream wedding."

"Planning a wedding is very stressful," says DeGeneres. "It is crazy. My gardener is now invited."

The comedienne remained tight-lipped on the major details of her upcoming nuptials to de Rossi, 35, only revealing that "incredible people" would be performing, and that she would air part of the ceremony on her show.

But there are no signs of any pre-wedding jitters for DeGeneres.

"I can't wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue," she said. "And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don't have the same rights."

The two stars began dating in December 2004.

What Happened To Will Smith?

Drinking Tommy Boy's juice is never good.....

I loved Will Smith. Will Smith was perfect.

And then Will Smith drank the Xenu juice. Will Smith hasn’t been the same since.

So Will dropped by Ellen’s yesterday to promote Hancock – did you watch? Sigh. Made me sad. Once upon a time, Will Smith wasn’t so… contrived. Nowadays it’s like he’s taken a page from the GMD: totally rehearsed, pandering, maybe not so creepy, but also completely devoid of spontaneity. Even Ellen seemed shellshocked by the transformation.

First it’s the overt reference to his attraction to his wife. They were talking about Jada’s dress at an awards show or something and Will takes it one step further by telling Ellen that Jada looked so hot that he whispered to her – I’m gonna tear that thing up tonight!

Somewhere out there, Tom Cruise is wiping himself down.

What’s even weirder though is from that Will switched gears almost immediately to studying about spirituality, to being a good father, to surrounding oneself with “good” people as a path to enlightenment.

Selling a movie is like running for office. The MiniVan Majority often can’t tell the difference. And they’ve turned Will Smith into a zombie.

Is This The Future President???

Republican John McCain addressed the issue of gay marriage on an upcoming espisode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The presdential wannabe says same-sex couples should only be allowed to enter into legal agreements for insurance and other purposes. But that’s where he draws the line. Allowing gays and lesbians to marry is just simply out of the question.

Here’s what went down.

McCain: “I just believe the unique status of marriage between and man and a woman. And I know that we have a respectful disagreement on that issue.”

Ellen: Mmm-hmm…yeah, I mean, I think that it is looked at — and some people are saying the same — that blacks and women did not have the right to vote. I mean, women just got the right to vote in 1920. Blacks didn’t have the right to vote until 1870 and it just feels like there’s this old way of thinking that we are not all the same. We are all the same people, all of us. You’re no different than I am. Our love is the same…When someone says, ‘You can have a contract, and you’ll still have insurance, and you’ll get all that,’ it sounds to me like saying, ‘Well, you can sit there, you just can’t sit there.’…It feels like we are not, you know, we aren’t owed the same things and the same wording.”

McCain: “Well, I’ve heard you articulate that position in a very eloquent fashion. We just have a disagreement. And I, along with many, many others, wish you every happiness.”

Ellen: “So, you’ll walk me down the aisle? Is that what you’re saying?”

McCain: “Touche.”

Grey's Anatomy Spin Off A Go ?

Kate Walsh tooks a little trip to Ellen and rest assured talk turns to her potential Grey's Anatomy spin-off. Walsh - who proved so popular with viewers, ABC gave her a permanent gig on the medical drama - explained to Ellen that she's still got a few days until she gets confirmation. Well, Ellen's one impatient lesbian because she picked up the phone and gave ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson a little ringer.

At first McPherson sounds pretty happy to hear from Ellen, but doesn't seem so thrilled to be chatting with Walsh. He did say, however, that Walsh is "in pretty good shape". Does this mean we'll all get another hour of weepy, somewhat quirky, surprisingly popular medical drama? We don't know, but we do know that Ellen's got some gumption. And it's adorable.

I love Grey's Anatomy and did see the two (2) hour episode last week.... I think the spin-off would be interesting...... but it will be a wait and see thing....

I Heart TR Knight

T.R. Knight says hearing Isaiah Washington call him a "faggot" on the set of Grey's Anatomy gave him the courage to come out of the closet – and that he's speechless that Washington on Monday denied using the word.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres set to air Wednesday, Knight says something changed inside him when he overheard an argument in October between Washington and Grey's co-star Patrick Dempsey during which Washington used the slur.

"It's an awesome word, isn't it?" the 33-year-old actor tells DeGeneres sarcastically. "I've never been called that to my face. So I think when that happened, something shifted, and it became bigger than myself."

Shortly after the dustup, Knight confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE that he is gay – the kind of announcement he says isn't his style, but that he felt was necessary.

"I was under no delusions," he says. "My friends on the set knew. We talked about it. Publicly it's not my thing to call up PEOPLE magazine and be like, 'Hey, you want to know something about me?' ... I could've just let it slide and not said anything, but it became important. It became important to make the statement."

In the Golden Globe press room on Monday night, Washington denied using the slur. "No, I did not call T.R. a faggot," he told Access Hollywood. "Never happened, never happened."

That statement drew a sharp rebuke from another Grey's co-star, Katherine Heigl, who said Washington "needs to just not speak in public." And Knight tells DeGeneres he doesn't know what to make of the denial.

"I don't know what to say, really, about that," he says.

Knight also thanks DeGeneres for having the courage to come out as a lesbian 10 years ago. "It just made all the difference in the world," he says.
